You do not need to begin by building an app. Start with a task you already understand: answering a routine customer question, organizing a checklist, or turning rough notes into a clear message.
1. Choose a small task you can check
Pick something that takes time but has a clear result. For example, turn your own service details into a short appointment reminder. Avoid using private customer information in an experiment.
2. Give the assistant context
Try: “Draft a friendly appointment reminder for a small business. Use the service details below. Keep it under 80 words. Do not invent a price, address or cancellation policy. Mark missing details in brackets.” Then supply only information you are comfortable sharing.
3. Read every line before using it
Check names, dates, promises and tone. An answer that sounds polished can still be wrong. Replace invented details and keep the decisions in your hands.
4. Save the instructions that worked
Keep a reusable template with blank spaces for details. Try it on a second example and compare the result. This is a manageable way to learn what an AI assistant can help with.
